POSITION SUMMARY: To safely and efficiently transport food and other nutrition department items to designated transport schools and sites to assure highest food quality possible.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift heavy loads not to exceed 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Valid Iowa commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
- Possess good collaborative and interpersonal skills
Successful completion of a criminal background check and physical capacity profile test will be required upon offer.

Professional Performance Criteria
- Operates transport truck in manner that insures safety of food, equipment, personnel, and students
- Loads and unloads all items being sent to transport schools quickly and in a sanitary manner
- Correctly stores food items in storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers
- Maintains clean interior of transport truck
- Makes pick up and deliveries inside and outside the school district as requested by supervisor
- Reports all non-working equipment to appropriate supervisor
- Performs general maintenance of transport truck on weekly basis. This includes fueling and checking oil, tires, lights, and other safety equipment.
- Duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor may vary from time to time
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Substitutes are called and used on an “as needed basis” with no guarantee of hours or days.
